Privacy Policy

Information We Collect

Depending on how you use this site, we may collect:

• Account information — your email and password, if you create an account. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider (Supabase) and are never visible to us in plain text.
• Order information — name, email, phone number, and shipping address, collected at checkout to fulfill your order.
• Payment information — we do not process or store card numbers or bank details ourselves. If you pay by Venmo or Zelle, that payment happens entirely within your own banking or Venmo app — we only see what you send us directly (name, order details) to confirm it. If you pay by crypto, that's handled directly by Coinbase Commerce.
• Newsletter signup — if you subscribe for updates, your email is sent to our email provider (Buttondown) to manage that list.
• Contact and affiliate form submissions — whatever you include when reaching out (item requests, affiliate applications).
• Cart contents — stored locally in your own browser (not on our servers) so your cart persists as you browse.
• Age verification status — stored locally in your browser for the current session, confirming you passed the 21+ checkpoint.

We don't currently use third-party analytics or advertising trackers on this site.

How We Use It

• To process and ship your order
• To create and manage your account, if you choose to make one
• To respond to inquiries, item requests, and affiliate applications
• To send updates if you've subscribed to our newsletter
• To confirm and reconcile manual payments (Venmo, Zelle, Contact to Order)

We don't sell your personal information to third parties.

Who We Share Information With

We rely on a small number of outside services to run this site, and information is only shared with them as needed to do their specific job:

• Venmo, Zelle, Coinbase Commerce — payment processing. Card payments are temporarily unavailable; Stripe remains integrated for that purpose and may process payment data again once card payments are reactivated.
• Airtable — order records and affiliate referral tracking
• Resend — sending order confirmation emails
• Supabase — account creation and login
• Buttondown — newsletter delivery
• Our hosting provider (Vercel) — runs the site itself

Each of these providers has its own privacy practices governing the data they process on our behalf.

Data Retention

We keep order and account information for as long as your account is active or as needed to satisfy legal, tax, and record-keeping obligations. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time — see "Your Rights" below.

Your Rights

You can:

• Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction or deletion of your information
• Unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time (every newsletter email includes an unsubscribe link)
• Ask us any question about how your data is handled

To exercise any of these, email us at support@pacificcoastlabs.org. If you're a California resident, these rights are consistent with the California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA).

Do Not Track

This site does not currently respond differently to browser "Do Not Track" signals, as we don't run third-party tracking or advertising scripts that would be affected by them.

Age Requirement

This site is restricted to individuals 21 years of age or older, consistent with our Terms & Conditions. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 21.

Security

We rely on reputable, established providers (Venmo, Zelle, Coinbase Commerce, Airtable, Resend, Supabase) to handle sensitive data like payments, order records, and passwords — we don't store this information ourselves. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to use providers with strong security practices.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent version. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated policy.
